Reichenow's Seedeater

Reichenow's Seedeater, scientifically classified as Crithagra reichenowi, was formally described by German ornithologist Gustav Hartlaub in 1881. The species was named in honor of Anton Reichenow, a prominent German ornithologist and researcher who contributed extensively to the study of African birds during the late 19th century. Its taxonomy reflects the era's focus on mapping avian diversity across East African habitats, particularly within the highlands of Kenya, Tanzania, and Ethiopia.
