Varied Lorikeet

The Varied Lorikeet, scientifically classified as Psitteuteles versicolor, is a species native to the tropical northern regions of Australia. These birds were first described by the ornithologist Pieter Boddaert in 1783, emerging into the scientific record during a period of intense European exploration and documentation of the Australian continent’s unique avian fauna.
