Western Marsh Harrier

The Western Marsh Harrier (Circus aeruginosus) is a bird of prey that has long occupied the wetlands and marshes of Europe, North Africa, and parts of Asia. Evolutionarily adapted for a life of hunting over reedbeds, the species developed its distinct soaring wing shape and long, rudder-like tail to navigate the gusty, open environments where it thrives.
