White-eared Myza

The White-eared Myza, Myza sarasinorum, is an endemic honeyeater found exclusively in the montane forests of Sulawesi, Indonesia. It was first described in the late 19th century by the ornithologists Adolf and Paul Sarasin, who conducted extensive natural history expeditions across the island. The species is characterized by its specialized bill and rounded wing and tail morphology, traits that have evolved to support its foraging behavior among the dense, mossy understory of high-altitude cloud forests.
