Maailmansota itäisellä sotanäyttämöllä

Maailmansota itäisellä sotanäyttämöllä is a Finnish wargame centered on the Eastern Front of the First World War. It emerged from the niche but dedicated hobbyist scene in Finland that focuses on historical simulation, specifically detailing the tactical and strategic movements between the Central Powers and the Russian Empire. The game was produced to provide a deep, analytical look at a theater of war that is often overshadowed by the Western Front in popular Western historiography.

The design of the game adheres to traditional hex-and-counter wargame mechanics, prioritizing historical fidelity and logistical accuracy over fast-paced action. It reflects the meticulous research typical of such simulations, aiming to challenge players to manage the vast geographical distances and complex supply lines inherent to the Eastern Front. Within the Finnish gaming community, it is regarded as a serious academic exercise in military history, valued primarily by enthusiasts of grand strategy and early 20th-century geopolitical conflict.
