A Prince Among Frogs

A Prince Among Frogs was published in 2010 by Bloomsbury Publishing USA as the second installment in Elizabeth Dawson Baker's Princess Academy series. The narrative continues the journey of Miri, a young woman navigating the complexities of royalty and political intrigue within the fictional kingdom of Mount Eskel. Baker, a seasoned author of young adult literature, sought to explore themes of female agency, education, and the transition from childhood to adulthood through a fantasy lens.

The book’s design and aesthetic were crafted to appeal to a demographic of young readers transitioning into young adult fiction, aligning with the cover art trends of the late 2000s that emphasized whimsical, character-driven fantasy illustrations. Upon its release, the work was received as a solid follow-up to the established series, praised by critics and readers for its consistent character development and its ability to maintain the charm of the original setting while raising the stakes for its protagonists.
