Fairy lies

Fairy Lies, published in 2012 by Bloomsbury, serves as the third installment in Elizabeth Dawson Baker's popular The Fairy Tale Series. The novel continues the narrative arc established in the preceding books, focusing on the intricate interplay between human lives and the complex, often dangerous world of the fae. Baker wrote this series to offer a grounded, contemporary perspective on traditional folklore, aiming to peel back the whimsical layers of fairy tales to reveal the darker, more calculated motivations beneath.

The book is characterized by its signature cover art style, which aligns with the aesthetic conventions of the young adult urban fantasy market during the early 2010s. By blending supernatural elements with modern-day settings, Baker sought to modernize classic tropes for a new generation of readers. The series was met with a warm reception from the target demographic, earning praise for its pacing and the depth of its world-building as the author successfully expanded the stakes for her protagonist with each successive entry.
