Best of Dave Matthews Band for Easy Guitar

Published in 2001 by Cherry Lane Music Company, this songbook was released to capitalize on the widespread popularity of the Dave Matthews Band during their commercial peak. As the band's complex arrangements often present a challenge for novice musicians, this volume was specifically curated for the 'easy guitar' market, featuring simplified tablature and chord diagrams that distilled their signature acoustic sound into a more accessible format.

The collection was designed to cater to the significant community of amateur guitarists inspired by Dave Matthews' percussive and intricate strumming style. By stripping back the multi-instrumental layers of tracks like 'Ants Marching' and 'Crash Into Me,' the editors aimed to provide fans with a functional guide that mirrored the band's studio recordings while remaining playable for beginners. It reflects the broader trend of the late 90s and early 2000s, when publisher-led songbooks were the primary bridge between radio-popular rock music and home instruction.
