Collection jean walter paul-guillaume.

The Collection Jean Walter et Paul Guillaume, published in 1965, serves as a comprehensive catalog and tribute to the formidable art collection assembled by the Parisian art dealer Paul Guillaume and his widow, Domenica Walter. The collection itself, which eventually became a centerpiece of the Musée de l'Orangerie, represents one of the most significant private accumulations of Impressionist and School of Paris paintings, featuring masterworks by artists such as Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse, and Picasso.

This publication was curated to document the diverse scope of the Walter-Guillaume holdings, highlighting pieces that Guillaume acquired during his influential tenure in the early 20th-century Parisian art scene. By the time this catalog was produced, the collection had achieved legendary status in the art world, reflecting both Guillaume's sharp eye for emerging talent and his later focus on the modern masters that defined the artistic landscape of the era.
