Provenance

Where it came from

Published in 1990 by the Dorothy Goldeen Gallery, this monograph serves as a comprehensive catalog documenting the sculptural practice of Dennis Leon. It was produced to accompany an exhibition of his work, capturing a significant period in the artist's career when his abstract bronze and steel constructions were receiving heightened critical attention in West Coast gallery circles.

The publication is emblematic of the late 20th-century gallery catalog format, designed to provide both a visual record of Leon’s intricate, often organic-leaning geometric forms and a contextual framework for his artistic process. By documenting his installations and individual pieces, the gallery aimed to preserve the spatial dialogue of Leon’s work, which was deeply influenced by the intersection of industrial materials and natural rhythms.
