Drama of Space

Drama of Space was published in 2017 by Birkhäuser, an imprint of Walter de Gruyter, as part of their ongoing focus on contemporary architectural theory and practice. The book emerged during a period of renewed academic interest in how architectural form defines human experience, specifically investigating the intersection of physical space, perception, and dramatic tension. It serves as a scholarly exploration of how spaces function as stages for social and human interaction.

Authored by architect and researcher Holger Kleine, the text reflects his professional focus on the phenomenology of built environments. Kleine designed the volume to bridge the gap between abstract architectural concepts and the visceral reality of inhabited space, drawing on influences from both theater studies and structural design. Within the architecture community, the work is recognized for its analytical approach to spatial theory, often utilized as a reference for students and practitioners examining the psychological impact of geometric layouts.
