History of the Development of the Doctrine of the Person of Christ; Volume 5

Originally published in the mid-19th century as 'Entwicklungsgeschichte der Lehre von der Person Christi,' this seminal work by Isaak August Dorner remains a cornerstone of Protestant systematic theology. Dorner, a prominent German theologian, aimed to provide an exhaustive historical analysis of Christological development from the post-apostolic era through the Reformation, seeking to reconcile the historical perspective with the requirements of systematic belief. His rigorous scholarship significantly influenced late 19th-century theological thought, particularly in Britain and America, where his work was seen as a vital synthesis of traditional doctrine and modern historical-critical inquiry.

The 2023 edition published by Creative Media Partners is a modern reprint of this classic text, designed to preserve important scholarly material for contemporary readers and institutional libraries. As an on-demand reproduction, it serves to make Dorner's complex arguments regarding the nature of Christ accessible to modern scholars of church history and theology. The design reflects a practical approach to archival preservation, prioritizing the legibility of the original academic content rather than recreating the ornate aesthetic of the Victorian-era first editions.
