History of the Development of the Doctrine of the Person of Christ; Volume 2

Originally published in the mid-19th century as 'Entwicklungsgeschichte der Lehre von der Person Christi', Isaak August Dorner’s magnum opus remains a cornerstone of Protestant theological scholarship. Dorner, a prominent German theologian, composed this work to trace the historical progression of Christological thought from the early Church through the Reformation era, seeking to provide a rigorous academic foundation for faith in an age of emerging critical philosophy.

This 2023 edition, published by Creative Media Partners, is a modern reprint of the classic English translation that first introduced Dorner’s complex arguments to the English-speaking world. The design focuses on accessibility and preservation, utilizing scan-based reproduction techniques to ensure the original academic text remains available for contemporary seminarians and historians of doctrine who value Dorner’s methodical, deeply intellectual exploration of the personhood of Christ.
