Jo. Christophori Wolfii Past. ad D. Catharin. Hambvrgens. et scholarch. Curae philologicae et criticae ..

This scholarly volume, the Curae philologicae et criticae, represents the rigorous intellectual labor of Johann Christoph Wolf, a prominent 18th-century German polymath and bibliographer. Published in 1741 by Johann Christoph Kisner, the work reflects the height of the philological tradition in Hamburg, where Wolf served as a pastor and scholar. It was composed during a period when European academia was deeply focused on the critical analysis and preservation of classical and biblical texts, serving as a comprehensive reference for theologians and researchers of the era.

The design of the volume aligns with the traditional academic standards of the mid-18th century, featuring a sturdy, functional layout intended for institutional libraries and private scholarly collections. As a continuation of Wolf's earlier bibliographic efforts, this work was designed to catalog and analyze linguistic nuances within the New Testament. It was well-received by the contemporary theological community as a reliable instrument for exegesis, cementing Wolf's reputation as a meticulous editor and chronicler of ancient literature.
