Mind in Art

Mind in Art was authored by Charles M. Dorn and published in 1998 as part of the academic discourse surrounding art education. The book was developed within the context of the late 20th-century push to integrate cognitive psychology with creative pedagogy, aiming to bridge the gap between artistic production and the mental processes of the student. It serves as a scholarly investigation into how cognitive development informs the way individuals perceive and create visual art.

The design and content of the volume reflect Dorn's extensive background in art education leadership and research. It was structured to provide educators with a theoretical framework for understanding the intellectual complexities of the creative process. Upon its release, the work was received by the academic community as a significant contribution to the field, frequently cited by researchers looking to validate the academic rigor of arts programming within primary and secondary school curricula.
