Molly Make Believe

Molly Make-Believe was originally written by Eleanor Hallowell Abbott and first published in 1910. The story originated during a period when Abbott was gaining significant popularity for her whimsical, lighthearted romantic fiction, which frequently appeared in magazines like The Ladies' Home Journal. The narrative centers on a protagonist who fabricates a colorful, imaginative life to capture the interest of a bedridden man, reflecting the era's fascination with sentimentality and clever, character-driven plot twists.

The 2014 edition published via CreateSpace serves as a modern print-on-demand reproduction of this classic text, making the out-of-copyright work accessible to contemporary readers. While this specific volume is a functional reprint rather than a collector's first edition, it preserves the charm of Abbott's original voice, which was noted at the time for its spirited dialogue and unconventional, fast-paced storytelling that distinguished her from more traditional writers of the early 20th century.
