Perfect Little World

Perfect Little World was published in 2017 by HarperCollins as the second novel from Tennessee-based author Kevin Wilson. The story centers on a radical social experiment known as the Infinite Family Project, where a group of young parents and their infants are sequestered in a self-contained community to test the effects of collective child-rearing. Wilson drew inspiration from the history of utopian social engineering and 1970s communal living movements to explore the complexities of modern parenthood and the desire for perfect environments.

The book’s design and reception reflect its focus on domestic intimacy versus institutional control. Critics frequently noted Wilson's ability to blend high-concept speculative fiction with grounded, emotionally resonant character studies. By exploring the tension between idealism and the unpredictable nature of human development, the novel earned recognition for its wry observational tone and its willingness to examine the moral ambiguities inherent in creating a controlled, better world.
