The Bradley educational colored papers

The Bradley educational colored papers were introduced by the Milton Bradley Company during the early 20th century as a foundational tool for the kindergarten movement. Milton Bradley, a pioneer in early childhood education, sought to standardize color theory and artistic instruction for young students. This collection was designed to provide children with a systematic, consistent set of colored papers to facilitate the study of the primary, secondary, and tertiary color spectrums in a classroom setting.

The development of these papers was deeply influenced by the influence of the Froebel gifts and the broader pedagogical philosophy that emphasized tactile learning and geometric exploration. Milton Bradley collaborated with educators and color theorists of the era to ensure the papers represented a precise, standardized palette. The collection was widely adopted by public school systems throughout the United States, receiving recognition for its contribution to art education and the development of structured visual literacy for children.
