The complete poetical works of Samuel Taylor Coleridge

The 1912 Clarendon Press edition of the complete poetical works of Samuel Taylor Coleridge serves as a definitive scholarly reference, curated to consolidate the vast and varied body of work by one of the principal founders of the Romantic movement. Published by the Oxford University Press imprint, this volume was produced during a period of intense academic interest in establishing authoritative texts for major nineteenth-century poets, aiming to provide readers and researchers with a reliable, exhaustive collection of Coleridge's verse, including his celebrated experimental ballads and complex philosophical poems.

The editorial work behind this edition reflects the meticulous archival standards of the early twentieth century. By revisiting original manuscripts and contemporary publications, the editors sought to strip away editorial accretions from the Victorian era to recover the precise intentions of the poet. The volume was received by the literary establishment as a standard-setting resource, valued for its rigorous attention to textual variants and its contribution to the enduring critical appraisal of Coleridge's literary legacy.
