Where it came from
A Christmas Shang-A-Lang was released in 2015 as part of a highly anticipated reunion of the Scottish pop band the Bay City Rollers. Emerging from the nostalgia-fueled climate of the mid-2010s, this festive EP was designed to reconnect the band with their original fanbase, tapping into the classic, high-energy pop sensibilities that made them international teen idols during the 1970s.
Produced under the Forrest Boombox label, the record seeks to capture the trademark lighthearted and communal spirit of the group's early work. The design and production aimed for a balance between retro-pop charm and modern recording clarity, intended as a seasonal offering for dedicated fans of the band's enduring tartan-clad legacy.
