A Gathering Of Four

A Gathering Of Four was released in 2023 by the independent label Running Wild Productions, serving as a collaborative compilation featuring the folk and atmospheric metal acts Adder's Fork, Dea Artio, In Dornen, and Winter's Breath. The project was conceived as a showcase for the label's roster, aiming to bridge the thematic gap between neofolk elements and traditional black metal sensibilities. Each band contributed tracks that explore themes of nature, mythology, and seasonal change, aligning with the label's focus on underground European artists who favor organic soundscapes.

The album's visual identity and track sequencing were curated to present the four groups as a cohesive unit rather than as separate entities. By grouping these specific artists, Running Wild Productions sought to highlight the shared artistic lineage and collaborative spirit inherent in the niche sub-genres they represent. The compilation received positive recognition within the underground metal community for its curation and the high production quality of the individual contributions, which maintained a consistent sonic atmosphere across the entire disc.
