A Jolly Christmas With Frank Sinatra

A Jolly Christmas with Frank Sinatra was originally compiled as a holiday studio album and released in 1957, marking Sinatra's first full-length Christmas project. It was recorded at Capitol Records under the direction of conductor Gordon Jenkins, capturing the sophisticated, orchestral pop sound that defined Sinatra's tenure at the label. The album features a mix of traditional carols and secular holiday standards, curated to provide a warm, intimate atmosphere that became a definitive staple of the mid-century American holiday season.

The 2005 release by Unlimited Media serves as a reissue of these classic recordings, which have been remastered numerous times since the original analog tapes were captured. The design aesthetic for this era of Sinatra reissues often leans into the archival Capitol imagery, emphasizing the artist's persona during his most commercially successful period. It is widely regarded by music historians as a foundational piece of the vocal jazz holiday canon, consistently praised for the lush string arrangements and Sinatra's measured, melancholic vocal delivery.
