Albéniz - Granados - Ravel - Peterson-Berger

Released in 1997 by the Swedish label Opus 3, this album captures the Stockholm Guitar Trio performing a selection of transcriptions from classical composers Isaac Albéniz, Enrique Granados, Maurice Ravel, and Wilhelm Peterson-Berger. The collection was designed to highlight the ensemble's technical precision and the tonal variety of the acoustic guitar within the framework of romantic and impressionist compositions.

Opus 3, founded by Jan-Eric Persson, maintained a reputation in the audiophile community for prioritizing natural, uncolored sound capture. This recording is emblematic of the label's focus on intimate chamber music, aiming to provide a high-fidelity listening experience that mimics the acoustic presence of a live performance in a small space, a hallmark of their engineering philosophy during the late twentieth century.
