Where it came from
Released in 2007 under the Polydor label, this collaborative single features French singer Olivia Ruiz alongside the iconic Belgian-Italian crooner Salvatore Adamo. The track represents a cross-generational artistic meeting, blending Ruiz's whimsical, cabaret-influenced pop sensibilities with Adamo's classic, melodic chanson style, which has been a staple of French-language music since the 1960s.
The song functions as a playful dialogue, reflecting the period's interest in reviving mid-century musical charm through a modern indie-pop lens. Its production is characterized by a light, rhythmic bounce that highlights the contrast and harmony between the two vocalists, and it remains a documented example of the collaborative spirit often found in the French music industry during the mid-2000s.
