Where it came from
Das Wunder Vom Kirschkern was released in 2013 by Helbling, a publisher specializing in educational music and literature for children and schools. The project features the work of Dagmar Rüdiger-Triebel, who is well-regarded in German-speaking pedagogical circles for her creative approaches to teaching music. This particular CD was designed to provide a narrative-driven musical experience, intended for use in early childhood education settings to encourage rhythmic participation and storytelling.
The creative intent behind the work centers on the synthesis of music and folklore, utilizing the theme of the cherry pit to explore concepts of growth and nature. Rüdiger-Triebel’s approach is rooted in the tradition of Orff-Schulwerk, focusing on accessibility and the joy of spontaneous musical expression. Upon its release, it was received as a practical and imaginative resource for primary school teachers and parents looking for high-quality, non-commercial media to engage children in active listening.
