Donald Alexander

Donald Alexander is a 1995 release by singer-songwriter Donald Alexander-Grieve, issued under the Rowan Records label. This project emerged during the mid-nineties folk and singer-songwriter revival, reflecting a period where independent artists were increasingly utilizing small-press labels to distribute acoustic-focused, personal compositions directly to niche audiences.

The album serves as a self-titled showcase for Alexander-Grieve’s craftsmanship, characterized by understated production and intimate lyrical storytelling. As part of the Rowan Records catalog, the release sought to emphasize authenticity and raw performance over the polished studio aesthetics common in the mainstream music industry of the time. While the album maintains a modest profile among general music listeners, it remains a documented entry in the independent folk tradition of the Pacific Northwest.
