Dornik

Dornik's self-titled debut album was released in 2015, marking the arrival of the multi-instrumentalist and producer into the neo-soul and contemporary R&B landscape. After gaining industry attention as a drummer for Jessie Ware and crafting his own home-produced demos, Dornik signed with the esteemed London-based label PMR Records, with Hostess Entertainment Unlimited handling distribution in Japan. The project represents a bridge between classic soul influences and modern electronic sensibilities, characterized by its minimalist production and syncopated, groove-heavy percussion.

The album's sonic aesthetic, described by critics as a smooth evolution of the 90s R&B sound, reflects Dornik's dedication to maintaining creative control over his arrangements. Upon its release, the record was well-received for its polished, intimate atmosphere, earning comparisons to contemporaries like Miguel and producers like Pharrell Williams. It serves as a defining entry in his discography, solidifying his identity as an artist who prioritizes understated arrangements and melodic precision over maximalist production.
