dornRöSCHeN

The self-titled album dornRöSCHeN was released in 1995 through the independent label Red Rooster Records & Studios GmbH. Emerging from the German underground scene of the mid-1990s, the project reflects the era's experimental approach to dark wave and gothic rock. The production was rooted in the label's commitment to niche, atmospheric compositions, capturing a distinctively melancholic aesthetic that was prevalent in the European alternative music circuit at the time.

The design of the release emphasizes a minimalist, cryptic visual language typical of independent gothic albums of the mid-90s. By prioritizing a moody, evocative cover art style, the artists sought to translate the introspective and often cryptic nature of their lyrics into a tangible visual format. The release remains a obscure relic of the German independent scene, valued primarily by collectors of 1990s dark wave for its adherence to the era's uncompromising and atmospheric production standards.
