Where it came from
Dreifinger was released in 2022 on Lakeland Records, capturing a collaborative session between Jonas Dorn, Bill Elgart, and Robert Lucaciu. The project represents a modern exploration of improvisational jazz, grounded in the interplay between Dorn's sonic approach, Elgart's long-standing reputation as a master of nuance on the drums, and Lucaciu’s foundational work on the bass.
The album reflects a trend within contemporary European jazz circles that prioritizes silence, texture, and spontaneous composition over traditional melodic structures. The design and production aim to showcase the raw acoustic space of the studio, intending to provide an intimate listening experience that highlights the distinct technical contributions of each of the three performers.
