Eins Bis Sechzehn

Eins Bis Sechzehn was released in 2012 by the Portuguese experimental label Crónica, a platform widely recognized for its dedication to avant-garde, field recording-based, and electronic compositions. The project represents a collaborative effort between sound artist Ephraim Wegner and visual artist Julia Weinmann, situated within a broader contemporary movement that seeks to bridge the gap between abstract audio processing and structured, minimalist sound design.

The album is noted for its meticulous approach to sonic texture, drawing upon the label’s characteristic aesthetic of clinical precision mixed with organic decay. Designed to evoke a sense of mathematical progression—as implied by its German title meaning 'one to sixteen'—the release serves as a study in how digital synthesis and concrete audio can be synthesized into a cohesive narrative. Upon its release, it was received primarily within experimental music circles as a focused, albeit subtle, contribution to the Crónica catalog.
