Ein Scherz Jagt Denselben - Das Beste Vom Meisterschelm

Released under the Convoy label, this compilation serves as a curated retrospective of the work of Heinz Erhardt, one of Germany’s most beloved humorists and entertainers of the twentieth century. Compiled to capture the essence of his unique brand of wordplay and lighthearted musical comedy, the collection draws from his vast catalog of recordings made throughout the 1950s and 1960s, reflecting the post-war German cabaret and television era that defined his career.

The design of the release emphasizes Erhardt’s familiar public persona as the quintessential 'Meisterschelm' or master wag. By organizing his most iconic skits and rhyming poems into a cohesive disc, the label aimed to preserve his legacy for a generation of fans who grew up watching his films and stage performances. The collection has been received as a quintessential piece of German cultural heritage, maintaining its relevance due to the timeless and often surreal nature of Erhardt’s linguistic wit.
