Where it came from
Released in 2010 by BGO Records, this reissue chronicles Eric Carmen’s self-titled debut studio album, originally launched in 1975 following his departure from the Raspberries. The album marked Carmen’s definitive transition into a solo career, blending power pop sensibilities with the sweeping, classically-influenced piano ballads that would define his commercial success throughout the late seventies.
BGO Records, known for their archival-focused reissues, produced this version to provide a remastered look at the work that launched hits like All by Myself. The design remains faithful to the original aesthetic, emphasizing the transition from the rock-oriented sound of his former band to the sophisticated, orchestrated pop production that aimed to establish Carmen as a premier singer-songwriter of the era.
