Evgenii Svetlanov dirigeert het Residentie Orkest

This recording was produced in 2002 by the Residentie Orkest, the renowned symphony orchestra based in The Hague. It features the celebrated Russian conductor Evgeni Svetlanov, known for his intense, muscular approach to the Romantic repertoire. This release captures a specific collaborative chapter during Svetlanov's later career, documenting the artistic synergy between a legendary guest conductor and a Dutch ensemble with a rich history of orchestral excellence.

The album serves as a testament to the Residentie Orkest's commitment to archiving their live concert performances. Svetlanov, who held a deep affinity for Russian composers such as Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky, brings a distinct interpretative weight to these selections.
