Where it came from
Released in 2019 under the G-Tech Records imprint, 'Game Game' by Thunda Boy emerged from the contemporary independent hip-hop scene. The project reflects the label's focus on regional sounds and digital-first distribution, characteristic of an era where artists leveraged niche platforms and streaming ecosystems to build underground followings outside of major label infrastructure.
The production style and cover aesthetics align with the late 2010s trend of lo-fi, bass-heavy underground rap, emphasizing direct communication between the artist and their local fanbase. As a small-batch physical release, the CD serves primarily as a tangible memento for collectors and supporters, capturing a specific moment in the artist's discography during the late 2010s transition to a predominantly streaming-based industry.
