Where it came from
Holger is the self-titled debut studio album by the Brazilian indie rock project Holger, released in 2014 through the independent label Balaclava Records. The album emerged from the vibrant São Paulo underground scene, reflecting the band's transition from experimental beginnings toward a more defined, rhythmic approach to indie pop and tropicalia-infused rock.
The album's aesthetic and sound were shaped by the collective creative input of the band members, who sought to capture the eclectic energy of their live performances within a studio environment. Upon its release, the record was recognized by Brazilian music critics for its polished production and its ability to blend international indie influences with distinctively local melodic sensibilities.
