Where it came from
Released in 2007 by the specialized label Seicorde, this recording is part of the I Maestri Della Chitarra series, a catalog dedicated to showcasing the technical prowess and interpretive depth of leading classical guitarists. Ignacio Rodes, a distinguished Spanish virtuoso and educator, curated this selection to highlight the nuances of the instrument, utilizing his background in the Mediterranean tradition to bring a specific clarity and lyrical phrasing to the repertoire.
The album serves as a definitive document of Rodes's pedagogical and performance philosophy. Designed to appeal to both students of the classical guitar and enthusiasts of the instrument's solo literature, the project focuses on capturing the natural acoustic resonance of his instrument. It was received by the guitar community as a polished, earnest contribution to the genre, emphasizing traditional structural integrity over contemporary experimentalism.
