Where it came from
Released in 2015, this self-titled debut album serves as a definitive statement from guitarist and vocalist Jen Majura. Produced independently, the record captures a pivotal moment in her career shortly before she gained widespread international recognition as the guitarist for the rock band Evanescence. The project is rooted in Majura's background as a versatile session musician and performer, aiming to showcase a blend of heavy rock influences and melodic songwriting that highlights her technical proficiency alongside her vocal range.
The album reflects Majura's creative autonomy, opting for a self-released approach that allowed for complete artistic control over the recording process. The design and soundscapes lean into the modern metal and hard rock aesthetics popular during the mid-2010s, prioritizing raw energy and precise instrumentation. Upon its release, the record was received by fans of the European rock scene as a clear indicator of Majura's capability as a solo artist, establishing a foundation that complemented her subsequent work in global touring acts.
