Where it came from
Released in 1997 on the independent Rock & Hill Records label, Jenny serves as a primary artifact of the late 1990s alternative rock scene. The album captures a specific moment in independent music production, characterized by the raw, lo-fi aesthetic that dominated regional recording studios during that era.
The album's cover art and minimalist design reflect the DIY ethos prevalent among unsigned or small-label bands of the nineties. While The Jeni Jeni never achieved mainstream commercial success, the release remains a point of interest for collectors focusing on niche post-grunge and indie rock outputs from the turn of the millennium.
