Where it came from
Jenny Kissed Me is a self-released studio album by Scottish singer-songwriter Jenny MacDonald, arriving during the mid-2000s surge of independent folk-pop recordings. Produced and distributed outside of major label infrastructure, the project reflects the era's democratization of home recording technology, allowing artists to capture intimate, acoustic-leaning arrangements without the oversight of commercial studios.
The album is noted for its personal songwriting and stripped-back production, drawing stylistic comparisons to the introspective folk revival of the time. As an independent release from 2008, it occupies a specific niche in the singer-songwriter tradition, serving as a primary document of MacDonald’s early career transition into the grassroots music circuit.
