Where it came from
Jenny Talia, the alter ego of Australian performer Jennifer Talati, released this self-titled CD in 2003 as a showcase for her signature brand of irreverent, blue comedy songs. Emerging from the vibrant Australian pub circuit, the project was independently produced and released without the backing of a major label, reflecting the DIY ethos prevalent in regional comedy music scenes of the early 2000s.
The album was designed to capture the atmosphere of her live stage shows, focusing on observational humor and parodies that often leaned into adult themes. By handling the production and distribution independently, Talia maintained creative autonomy over the recording, ensuring the tracks remained authentic to the raw, unpolished energy of her nightclub performances, which helped her build a dedicated following among fans of Australian comedy.
