Where it came from
Released in 2000 under the Musicisti Associati Produzioni label, Kramer... Sempre Kramer serves as a dedicated tribute to the influential Italian composer and bandleader Gorni Kramer. Curated and performed by the prolific composer and conductor Giampiero Boneschi, the album aims to revisit and preserve the legacy of Kramer’s mid-century swing and jazz-infused compositions which played a foundational role in the development of Italian popular music during the post-war era.
Boneschi, a close contemporary and frequent collaborator within the Italian radio and television music scene, brought a sophisticated, orchestral approach to these arrangements. His goal was to breathe new life into Kramer’s melodic catalogue, ensuring the spirit of the original big band arrangements remained intact while adapting them for the sonic standards of the new millennium. The collection is widely regarded by enthusiasts of Italian library and jazz music as a respectful, authentic bridge between the golden age of Italian broadcast music and contemporary listeners.
