Where it came from
Leiz an Dorn, released in 2014 by Coop Breizh, is a collaborative album featuring the Breton singer Rozenn Talec and the harpist Lina Bellard. The project emerged from the rich tradition of Breton folk music, specifically focusing on the intimate interplay between voice and harp. Talec, known for her deep roots in the kan ha diskan style of traditional singing, paired with Bellard to explore themes of heritage and contemporary musical storytelling within the Celtic framework.
The album was produced as part of the broader efforts by Coop Breizh to document and promote the vitality of the Breton language and musical culture. The design reflects an organic, acoustic aesthetic intended to mirror the simplicity and resonance of the duo's performances. Upon its release, it was received as a nuanced addition to the modern Breton folk scene, praised for its commitment to traditional vocal techniques while integrating the fluid, meditative qualities of Bellard's harp arrangements.
