Where it came from
Live in Wredenhagen was released in 2002 by the German label Glitterhouse Records, a company widely respected for its commitment to Americana and alt-country music in Europe. The recording captures the Cary Hudson Electric Trio during a performance in Wredenhagen, Germany, reflecting the strong connection Hudson established with European audiences following the dissolution of his influential band, Blue Mountain.
The album serves as a document of Hudson's transition into his solo career, emphasizing his raw, blues-inflected guitar work and southern songwriting sensibilities. By stripping back the arrangements to a trio format, the recording highlights the spontaneity of his live performances and the intimate atmosphere typical of the small-venue European touring circuit that Glitterhouse often championed for its roster of American roots artists.
