Where it came from
Released in 2013, Live In Concert - Klangwelten 2012 documents a pivotal chapter in the long-running Klangwelten project, an ensemble initiative founded by harpist Rüdiger Oppermann. The project was conceived as a global musical dialogue, bringing together diverse traditional instrumentalists from across the globe to perform in a collaborative, cross-cultural format. This specific live recording captures the improvisational energy and complex arrangements that defined the ensemble's touring cycle during that year.
The album reflects Oppermann’s long-standing dedication to world-fusion music, emphasizing the interplay between his electro-acoustic harp and the traditional sounds of his various guest musicians. Produced under the Klangwelten Records imprint, the release was designed to showcase the fluidity of folk and world music traditions when presented in a live concert hall environment. It is regarded by critics as a faithful representation of the ensemble's philosophy, which prioritizes spontaneity and mutual influence over rigid studio production.
