Mariah Carey

Released by Sony Records International in 2015, this specific CD edition was compiled as a targeted collection for the Japanese market. It serves as a comprehensive retrospective of Mariah Carey's career, curated to capitalize on her enduring popularity in Japan, where she has historically maintained a significant and dedicated fan base. The release aligns with the label's strategy of issuing localized, high-quality pressings that often include exclusive track listings or packaging designs intended to appeal to regional collectors.

The design of the collection centers on Carey’s status as a definitive pop and R&B icon. As with many Japanese-market releases, the production quality is designed to meet the high standards of the local market, often featuring distinct obi strips and premium disc manufacturing. The collection was received as a functional, well-curated anthology that bridged the gap between her 1990s chart-topping era and her later contributions to contemporary music, effectively serving as a consolidated entry point for listeners seeking a career-spanning survey of her discography.
