Provenance

Where it came from

Metal Heart and Kaizoku-Ban represent a pivotal era for the German heavy metal band Accept, originally released in 1985 as a studio album and an exclusive Japanese live EP, respectively. Metal Heart marked the band's return to producer Dieter Dierks, aiming for a more polished, melodic sound to capture a wider international audience during the mid-eighties surge of traditional metal. The iconic cover art, featuring a chrome-plated heart, became a symbol of the band's industrial-tinged aesthetic.

The 2013 reissue by Hear No Evil Recordings served to consolidate these artifacts for a new generation of listeners, pairing the studio depth of Metal Heart with the raw, energetic performance captured on the Kaizoku-Ban EP. This package was designed to honor the classic line-up led by Udo Dirkschneider, preserving the visceral intensity of the live tracks while providing high-fidelity digital access to the original studio production. The release was well-received by long-time fans who valued the combination of technical precision and the band's signature aggressive songwriting.
