Michael Paulo Featuring David Benoit And The Magenta Symphony Orchestra

Released in 2010 through Michael Paulo’s independent label, Apaulo Music Productions, this recording represents a sophisticated collaboration between the acclaimed saxophonist Michael Paulo and jazz pianist David Benoit. The project serves as an extension of Paulo's long-standing commitment to contemporary jazz, blending his smooth melodic sensibilities with the lush, cinematic textures provided by the Magenta Symphony Orchestra.

The album reflects the collaborative spirit common in the West Coast jazz scene, where artists often bridge the gap between small-group improvisational jazz and traditional orchestral arrangements. Critics and listeners have noted the work as a polished example of orchestral pop-jazz, highlighting the seamless integration of Paulo’s reed work against the orchestral backdrop, a testament to the meticulous production standards Paulo maintains for his independent catalog.
