Where it came from
Released in 2010 by the independent label SvO B.V., Morgen Is Vandaag represents a specific moment in the career of Dutch actor and performer Matteo van der Grijn. The album emerged as a personal project, showcasing his transition from primarily acting-focused roles to a more intimate musical expression. It captures a reflective, acoustic-leaning aesthetic that aligns with the Dutch singer-songwriter tradition of the era.
The album was conceived as a collection of Dutch-language tracks designed to explore themes of optimism and daily life. While the production is modest and stripped-back, it received attention within Dutch theater and arts circles due to van der Grijn's established presence on stage. The design and presentation prioritize an authentic, unvarnished feel, aiming to bridge the gap between the listener and the performer's personal outlook.
