Where it came from
The 2006 self-titled release from the project Odd Legged Jenny emerged from the experimental and noise-influenced fringes of the mid-2000s independent music scene. Issued privately by the artist without the support of a formal record label, the work reflects the lo-fi aesthetic and idiosyncratic DIY recording practices that characterized underground music distribution during the early internet era.
The album serves as a document of the artist's singular approach to sound design, focusing on atmospheric textures and unconventional arrangements. By operating outside of traditional industry structures, the project maintains an intimate, unpolished quality that remains emblematic of the era's independent bedroom-recording movement and the relative obscurity that often followed such self-distributed efforts.
