¡Oh, Vida, Vida! Obres De Manuel García Morante

Released in 2010 by the Spanish label Tritó, this collection serves as a significant retrospective of works by Catalan composer Manuel García Morante. The album highlights the lyrical and neoclassical tendencies that defined his career, particularly his deep affinity for vocal music and his long-standing collaboration with legendary soprano Victoria de los Angeles. Produced to preserve the nuances of his compositional style, the recording captures the interplay between delicate orchestration and intimate vocal delivery.

The album features performances by the Orquesta de Cadaqués under the baton of Edmon Colomer, alongside the Glinka Quartet, providing a rich sonic landscape for García Morante's scores. By featuring Victoria de los Angeles, the release acts as a poignant archival bridge, showcasing the late soprano’s interpretative mastery over García Morante’s arrangements. Upon its release, the collection was well-received within the Hispanic classical music community for its role in cataloging the contributions of a prolific, though often understated, Spanish composer to the 20th-century repertoire.
